Privacy
Draft: to be reviewed before launch. This text describes how Werk works today.
What we collect
- No accounts. You do not sign up, so we hold no names, emails or passwords of visitors.
- Anonymous visit counts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and pages. It does not use cookies and does not follow you from site to site.
- Searches and Apply clicks. Your search itself runs in your browser. Werk also keeps anonymous daily counts: which words were searched, for which place, how many jobs were found, and how often each job’s Apply button was tapped. We use them to improve the search and to publish statistics. These counts hold no IP address, cookie, device details or anything that identifies you. Searches that look like a name, email address or phone or ID number are not kept.
- Your location. If you tap “Jobs near me” and agree, your browser works out the nearest town on your own phone. Your position is not sent to Werk. The town you choose is remembered in your browser so you do not have to pick it again.
Job listings and personal information
Job listings come from public employer pages. Werk keeps short summaries and removes personal details such as recruiters’ names, emails and phone numbers. If you find personal information about you on Werk, contact us and we will remove it.
Other sites
The Apply button takes you to the employer’s website. That site has its own privacy rules, which Werk does not control.
Advertising
Werk may show ads in future, for example through Google AdSense. If that happens, ad companies may use cookies. We will update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Your rights
Under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you may ask what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Use the Contact page.
